Marcus

On August 19th 1958, in Chambridgeshire County England, Master Sergeant Vincent Buonfiglio gave his pregnant wife Margaret a kiss as he helped her into the car that was to take her to the hospital. "Bring me back a son dear" he said as he closed the door. Later, a call to the base flight line maintenance shop announced the birth of Marcus Louis Buonfiglio. Margaret had followed orders. For the first twelve years of Marcus' life the Air Force defined their lifestyle moving them every eighteen months. Always being the "new kid" at school he learned quickly that if you didn't establish yourself, life for the next eighteen months could be miserable. Although not wanting to fight he learned that he was willing to fight. From those early lessons in life he understood that to live a peaceful life one must be prepared to defend that peace and after graduating High School Marcus' interest turned to the martial arts. In 1980 he began his training in American Kenpo under John Sepulveda and during the next 14 years achieved the rank of 3rd Black. What followed during that time was a very successful competition career with numerous first place trophies and a win at the famed Internationals in Long Beach Ca. Marcus had gained a reputation as an excellent competitor and a requested instructor. Although his successes were satisfying and a level of proficiency had been achieved, he felt there was something missing in his training. In 1994 Marcus petitioned Grandmaster Michael Robert Pick of The Universal Kenpo Federation to be his instructor. American Kenpo from a combative perspective became his pursuit and under the guidance of Mr. Pick achieved the rank of 7th degree Black Belt. Under the instruction of Mr. Pick he was introduced to and became proficient in the use of the Kenpo knife. He received his pistol training under Special Forces Instructor David Kutchinsk, and World Champion Ron Pulitano. He has been involved in teaching The US Army 10th Special Forces Group (A), the Ft. Bliss Combative Instructors, and NRA Shooting Classes. Always enjoying great satisfaction in instructing, Marcus has coached baseball, "T" ball, Pee Wee baseball, youth soccer and High School soccer with three championships to his credit. He has worked with young athletes on the psychology of performance and the mind set of winning. He resides in The Woodlands Texas with his beautiful wife of 28yrs and is the proud father of two wonderful children. Chester

Chester Peterson

Chester Peterson was born in a small town in the Mid West. Shortly after his birth, the hospital that he was born in burned to the ground. This unusual phenomenon somewhat became a symbolic start to a less than boring life. As a child, Chester was raised in a violent, abusive household. The unforgettable ordeal gave him some powerful insights into the manipulation that men use to control and abuse women. This difficult upbringing drove Chester to the streets at a young age and by the age of 16 he was living on his own. After graduating high school on the honor roll, Chester spent 4 years in the United States Army. His formal combative training started in the military but it was continued and enhanced under the tutelage of Grand Master Michael Robert Pick in the Universal Kenpo Federation. Chester spent 20 years learning and teaching in the Universal Kenpo Federation. Under the instruction of Mr. Pick he was introduced to and became proficient in the use of the Kenpo knife. He received his pistol training under Special Forces Instructor David Kutchinsk, and World Champion Ron Pulitano. He has been involved in teaching The US Army 10th SFG (A), the Ft. Bliss Combative Instructors and NRA Shooting Classes. Chester operated a flight school for 8 years teaching students to fly both helicopters and airplanes. With great insight and perception, he successfully redesigned the teaching process with great results. The national average to receive a pilot's license is 86 hours, yet his formidable knowledge and experience led his student average to successfully graduate with 56 hours. While running the flight school, Chester taught classes quarterly at Sacramento City College. Again, he changed the teaching format which allowed the students a greater understanding and a better success rate with the difficult subjects such as aviation weather, instrument ground school, and helicopter aerodynamics. Chester's understanding of the teaching and learning process has allowed him to diversify and expand his student base. He has gone through extensive training that has made him successful at training both dogs and horses. This driving force and his understanding of how to teach the basics has become Chester's specialty. Chester received a 5th Degree Black Belt in the Universal Kenpo Federation. A NRA Basic Handgun Safety Instructor Certificate, a NRA In Home Personal Protection Instructor Certificate, a NRA Range Safety Officer Certificate, a FAA Helicopter Instructor License and a FAA Airplane Instructor Certificate. With a strong commitment and foundation of experience and training, Chester has the ability to overcome any obstacles set before him.
